Happy new release Tuesday to THE NEW CAMELOT, the third and final book in my Emry Merlin series.
When I started writing this series, longhand, in a Molskine notebook I’d brought with me to France, I called it Smutty Merlin as a joke. But it’s become so much more than that. These books are an exploration of feminism, friendship, and hope for a better world. They’re silly and joyful and queer, and yes, there’s kissing, but there’s also crying and wishing and yearning.
Emry, Arthur, Lance and the gang feel like old friends, and I’m so glad you get to visit with them one last time. (Or, as many times as you like, if you’re someone who re-reads books. I only do that with a few absolute favorites, which is apparently called a comfort read. I love that idea: No matter how badly your day is going, there’s always a book sitting on your shelf that can make things better.)
Since this is the last book in the series, you might be wondering what’s next. (To be honest, so am I.) Currently, I’m finishing up a revision on what I hope will be my next book, an enemies-to-lovers adult rom-com that will make anyone who’s ever followed online publishing drama squeal. And I’m outlining a YA romantasy project as well (if you love The Magicians and Throne of Glass, this is your jam). I promise to share snippets and updates on both of these things over on instagram, and of course here on my Substack.
I’m so excited for this book to finally be in your hands (and to hear if you think I did the original legend justice)! Thank you SO much to all of you who pre-ordered the book, or will be grabbing a copy in person today. And thank you x1000 to everyone who has posted about this series online, or shared your enthusiasm with a friend. Your support is the reason I still get to make up stories for a living, instead of dropshipping insurance or something.
xoxo
